Fulfilment By Amazon (FBA) – Amazon Marketplace

When goods are being delivered to and sold through the Amazon Maketplace, some importers have problems when it comes to the Customs clearance.

We at UK Import Services Ltd can assist you if your goods are being shipped in to one of the UK’s Amazon Fulfilment centres, either with just the UK Customs Clearance or with arranging the goods to be shipped.

Under the Section titled ‘Pallet Labelling and Preparation’, it says:

  • All pallets must be stretch-wrapped in clear plastic with a ‘do not break stretch-wrap’ or ‘do not break down’ notification to the carrier. Pallets wrapped in black/opaque stretch-wrap may be rejected.
  • Pallets must not exceed 180 cm in height when single-stacked. Double stacked pallets: 2.7 metres for DE/CEE and 3.0 metres for UK, FR, IT and ES (including the height of the pallet).
  • The total weight of a pallet must not exceed 500 kg.

The rules at the Amazon warehouse say that the pallets must be no higher than 1.7m, unless you are planning to double-stack the pallets (in which case they cannot be that high):

  • All pallets must be stretch-wrapped in clear plastic with a ‘do not break stretchwrap’ or ‘do not break down’ notification to the carrier. Pallets wrapped in black/opaque stretch-wrap may be rejected.
  • Pallets must be standard four-way access pallets of 1200mm x 1000mm.
  • Pallet exchange is not available.
  • On import shipments to the UK, pallets need to comply with ISPM 15 standard (heat treated pallets)
  • Broken or damaged pallets are not acceptable and may be rejected at the Merchant’s expense.
  • Pallets must not exceed 1.7m in height when single-stacked, or 1.5m when double-stacked (including the height of the pallet).
  • Cartons on pallets should not exceed 15kg. If an individual sellable unit weighs more than 15kg, it should be clearly marked as “Heavy Weight” and this marking should be viewable from both the top and sides of the container.
  • Total weight of a pallet must not exceed 1000kg; double stacked 2000kg.
